Dementia Voice PL12 is providing opportunities for people living with or affected by dementia to enjoy the many benefits of walking. With the support of trained Walk Leaders, we have planned a number of safe walking routes – allowing people to go at a pace which works for them.
If you are caring for or supporting someone with dementia, you too are very welcome to join our walks. To take part, just turn up at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the walk time and introduce yourself to the Walk Leader. You’re advised to wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and to bring a waterproof jacket, a drink and a walking stick, if needed.
If you want to know more about our planned walks, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 07512 098117.
Fancy a flutter to support Dementia Voice PL12?
You can bet it’ll be a great night out this Friday, when we host a horseracing evening this Friday night to help raise funds for a worthy cause. This special charity night will take place on Friday 25 May at Saltash Social Club from 7.00pm until midnight. Tickets cost only £5 and include a buffet – buy yours at 4 Fore Street, Piglets, Saltash Social Club, or on the door on the night. See you at the starting gates!
Get a warm welcome at our regular groups
We run two regular and very popular dementia-friendly groups right here in Saltash. Our Dementia Drop In Cafe takes place every Tuesday from 10am until 1pm at the Community Hub, 4 Fore Street. Our Veterans Group, for anyone who has been in the Armed Forces and affected by dementia, now runs every other Saturday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the SHADO Centre (next meetings: June 2, 16, 30; July 14, 28).
