Several local non-profit organisations are interested in taking unused office space in the Citizen’s Advice Bureau building. Key to the success of the project will be additional commercial tenants paying market rent, and there is also strong interest there.
Saltash Gateway CIC (Community Enterprises PL12) has reached an understanding with Cornwall Council to take over the running of the building on a 2 year trial basis, rent free. The final terms of the agreement are being negotiated. The CIC will have to ensure the property benefits the local community and generates a sustainable income stream. If that is achieved, 18 Belle Vue Road could remain a community asset in the long term.
